In this post COVID19 era consumers try to improve their personal immunity and are continuosly looking for natural and organic ingredients with antibacterial and antiviral properties such as tea tree oil or aloe vera gel to protect their health.
Called the “plant of immortality” in the Egypcian era and already used by Cleopatra in a daily basis, aloevera has gained even more popularity while companies were producing hand sanitizers. Besides its use in personal care products, consumers have been buying aloe vera gel to make hand sanitizer at home during the pandemia. Hand sanitizers need to have an alcohol content between 60% and 90% in order to be effective and they are usually isopropyl alcohol or ethanol (ethyl alcohol).
Alcohol is known to be able to kill bacteria and viruses effectively when used externally but it needs other ingredients such as aloe vera in order to get hands hydrated.
Other natural ingredients experiencing an increase in demand are propolis or eucaliptus oil.
